Vernon Robinson is a former US Air Force Officer and City Councilman who lives in Winston-Salem, NC. The son of a Tuskegee airman, V. L. Robinson, Jr., Vernon graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1977. He served as a Missile Combat Crew Commander in the 351st Strategic Missile Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri before going on to earn an MBA from the University of Missouri while on active duty. He also served the Bush 41 administration as US Education Department political appointee.
