Simon Tisminezky & Dan Abelon began SpeedDate.com as a school business project. Launched in late 2007, they have over 10 million users & is the world's largest online speed dating service.

Simon grew frustrated with trying to meet people through traditional dating websites. After spending   time and effort creating a profile, searching for dates, emailing back & forth, arranging to meet, it was disappointing to realize minutes into the date that there was no chemistry & the date was a time waster.  If only there was a way to find out if there was “chemistry” before committing to the live date, thus the creation of SpeedDate.

SpeedDate is the first dating site that provides users with an opportunity to increase their chances of dating success by hosting 5-minute speed dates.  Instant interaction with SpeedDate’s patent real-time technology eliminates any chance of an awkward first in-person encounter. SpeedDate has been the catalyst of many marriages & engagements.

Prior to SpeedDate, Simon worked at Elfamed, Inc., a biotech startup, as VP of Commercial Operations. He developed company strategy and operational plan, while securing the first research collaborations with big pharma. Additionally, he also assisted in raising VC funding for Pharmaron (China based), a chemistry outsourcing company.   He has a Stanford MBA , a BS & MS in Chemical Engineering, & a BS in Economics from MIT.
