Sunday morning March 13th 1977 seemed liked any other Sunday in the Dirscherl house.  As in most American houses, the Dirscherls were preparing to go to church.  All seemed fine and Robert Dierscherl was actually scheduled to be the service Lector during the 9:00 am mass.  That is until Robert Dirscherl entered his bedroom while his wife remained in the kitchen.  Several minutes later, Mrs. Dirscherl heard a loud and ringing boom, at which time she found Robert laying on the floor with his chest covered in blood.  A 30 inch shotgun was on the bed clearly away from Robert Dirscherl's body.  Within 15 mintues, investigators determined the case to be a suicide.  Contending that Robert's arms were not long enough to reach the trigger from the angle of entry from the blast, detectives stated since Robert's left shoe was off that he more than likely used his foot to pull the trigger.  The case was marked as a suicide on the death certificate and the case was closed.  That was until 16 years later when the family recieved a letter on the anniversary of Robert's death with a confession that said "I killed your daddy".  Yet the mystery is still unsolved and the case was featured on Unsolved Mysterys twice.  Robert's youngest son Daniel has written a book released this past January entitled "Healing Wounds...The Redemption Legacy".  Tune in this Wednesday at 6 PM EST as our guest will be Daniel Dirscherl on The Other Side of Justice to discuss his father's unsolved case.  Suicide, not likely.  A must listen!
