Naturals. Braids. Weaves. Relaxers. The beautiful thing about being a black woman is that we can rock so many different looks.

But, then again, we can't. When black women select a hairstyle, like it or not, we put ourselves in a box and make a statement about where we stand on the issue of black women's hair.

Why is there soooooo much tension around this topic? White women have no issue with laying on the beach to get darker and women in all ethnic groups get lip collagen injections with no shame whatsoever.

But when it comes to us, we have deep issues about decisions to alter the texture of our hair.

On Friday, we will open up and share on the ongoing dialogue about the poltics of black women's hair.

Call in at 1-855-POE-SHOW (1-855-763-7469). Tweet  questions on Twitter to @JanitaPoeShow (we monitor it and Facebook while on the air).

Also, we will continue our discussions about the racial profiling of black men in America and the best ways to help the homeless.

Let's get ready to talk!!!
