Western concepts of Christianity personalize God as a man who metes out punishment to the disobedient and dismiss Eastern concepts of God as a force or power rather than a being as more or less paganistic and primitive. Fear based teachings that demand faith without question often prevent challenges to concepts that are racist, sexist, or designed to perpetuate bigotry against an economic underclass.
