Is There Not A Cause? 1 Samuel 17: 29

In recent weeks the words "Is ther not a cause?" have been on mind. If you're not familiar with the phrase it can be found in 1 Samuel 17: 29 in the bible, it's the question David ask his older brother and others before he decides to fight Goliath. For me this question is actually a good question for the times that we live in. There are many causes but is the Church complacent and apathetic when it comes to being involved? Are we so politically correct that we are no eartly good? In all of our looking for individual purpose have we forgotten why we are here? Is there not a cause?
