What values define you? This week we're discussing how you define yourself and your values. Our guest is Rachel Tarr from Contact Community Services. She'll be leading us through the following activing adapted from "What Would You Do?" by Patricia Kenyon, 1999:

Rate the following values on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being not at all important and 5 being extrememly important:

  • Wealth
  • World peace
  • Excitement-filled life
  • Family
  • Enjoyable career
  • Self-esteem
  • Healthy love relationship
  • Wisdom
  • Respected/well-known
  • Honesty
  • Personal salvation
  • Contributing to society
  • Accomplishments/achievements

Now go back and rank the same 13 values in order of importance with 1 being most important, 2 the next in order of importance, and so on. What did you learn? Were there any surprises? Are there any factors in your life that influenced your choices?
