Why Don't They Teach Financial Education in Schools

Martha Stokes CMT was recently asked what would happen if everyone had financial education about the stock market. Would the stock market crash more? Would the stock market be more volatile? Why is it that there is no formal financial education in high schools or colleges, for people who are not majoring in economics or Financial Services degrees? Why are people never taught how the stock market really works?
