Charmaine welcomes Laura Serra to the show today.

Laura Serra is the founder of Paws for the Cause, a non-profit organization whose fundraising efforts benefit a variety of outlets from the OSPCA and the University of Guelph's Pet Trust fund to the Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic. This year, Laura will award a $5,000 Paws for the Cause scholarship to a veterinary student at the University of Guelph. As her "day job," Laura's current focus is strategic planning and creative development for lifestyle brands at Narrative - the public relations arm of Toronto ad agency Bensimon Byrne. Beyond the 9-5, Laura writes the society column for The Globe and Mail's Saturday T.O. section. She can be seen hopping around to the city's most exclusive parties and charitable galas.

Host Charmaine Hammond is the author of On Toby's Terms (Bettie Youngs Books) which is being turned into a major motion picture (see www.ontobysterms.com). She also authored Toby The Pet Therapy Dog & His Hospital Friends, GPS Your Best Life and Toby Says Be a Buddy Not a Bully.  She has developed a program for authors, Your Book As a Business, where she shares her learnings, lessons and success about the business of books.
