Congress remains deadlocked over passing HR 11, the Violence Against Women Act. The problem, it seems, is that its protections would include Native Americans, the undocumented and lesbians. Talkupy with Annie Lindstrom welcomes Ayele Hunt, Executive Director of I Am Choice, to the show on Thursday, February 14 at 11 am Eastern Time, to discuss the issue of violence against women. We will talk about the  One Billion Rising event, which also is being held across the nation, to urge Congress to pass HR 11. I Am Choice is hosting the event on Feb. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 at Studio 620 in St. Petersburg, FL. I Am Choice develops and launches events and other local actions like this that use collective individual power to change societal perceptions and create human centered solutions.
