Thursday, December 10, 2009 was an eventful day and one to be remembered by the world community. It was Human Rights Day. It was the day President Barack Obama accepted the Noble Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway. It was a day when Indigenous People from all parts of the globe marched and protested at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen to demand that industrial nation states cease and desist oppressing Native People with energy policies and practices that threaten their very existence. Are these events connected? How so? How do any of these actions affect us? Do we bear any responsibility for Human Rights, for Peace, for War, for Climate Change, for Climate Debt? Join us in this discussion.
