Welcome to Survivor's Speak Radio, our show this morning is about overcoming pain, injustice, mass incarceration and community.  We will be joined by Michael Walton, who is a survivor, music mentor and entreprenuer.

Michael Walton has a unique story, he was born and raised in South Central LA amid the 1980's during the height of  the drug and gang wars of Los Angeles.

As a youth growing up in the 1980's and 90's Michael Walton witnessed first hand  the ill's of injustice, mass incarceration, police brutality and street violence that tear the heart out of his community. Overwhelmed and confused by the world around him, Michael found solace and comfort in the music of that time.  The words of rap groups such as N.W.A, Public emeny and artist like Scarface resonated with the sentiments of his reality.

Inspired to produce change and determined to tell his story he decided to write about his reality as being young in LA and the sentiments of enduring the pain of losing friends and love ones to mass incarceration and community violence.

Michael Walton's pursuit of music has lead him to his current endeavor of becoming an entreprenuer and producer, in doing so, he has had the fortunate opportunity to work alongside of some of the greats in music such as J Prince who has showed interest in Michael's ideals and record label "Outta the Trynches".

Michael Walton story of being a survivor of crime, businessman and Father is a testament of the power of overcoming hardships.

We are excited about having Michael Walton on Survivor's speaks radio, his expertise on his own life speaks to the growth and healing that exist in our own life experences.

This morning show will be hosted by The Reverence Project very own Phillip "Rock" Lester
