Hustler to Hooker - Tara's Story

Talia was sexually abused from the crib on.  No one listened or intervened.  Even her step-father sexually abused her.  Cutting herself to find relief from the internal pain (cutting takes the pain from the inside to the outside and is not a form of suicide but actually an attempt to find release from emotional pain), she soon developed other self-destructive behaviors.  Starting out as a regular "model" she soon found herself being eased into the world of hard-core .  From hard-core in magazines such as "Hustler" she found she couldn't make ends meet with an erratic shoot paycheck.  Addicts tend to seek out other addicts so she found herself buried in debt because of her husband's gambling addiction.  He left but left her with the bills.  Soon Tara began to see that it was really just one excuse after the other to justify returning to the sex industry.  Once the denial was stripped away - then what?  She sought help in Sex Workers Anonymous where today she's now working at a "regular" job and just got into graduate school.  Tara's hope is to finish school and work with other troubled kids like herself.
