Sermon 118 "False Theology: Making Up Myths About God"

Lots of people do it. They formulate an idea about God and stubbornly cling to it, no matter what the Bible says.

If you tell them Jesus Christ was gentle and kind, but occasionally got angry and went ballistic in the temple, they'll say "Well, I prefer not to think of Jesus that way."

People will sometimes say we should forgive and love everyone. When you say there needs to be repentence prior to forgiveness, they'll get indignant and call you judgmental.

We must stick to the true theology of the Bible and not usurp the authority of God's Word with our own ideas.
