This is a re-broadcast of STEM Voices which aired on June 14, 2017 with Laura Sampson. She is currently postdoc at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics at Penn State, where she is working on modeling measles epidemics.
Prior to switching to fields to epidemiology, Laura was a postdoctoral fellow in physics at Northwestern University’s Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) and focused her research on gravitational wave astrophysics. In 2016, she was one of five selected for The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship. The program recognizes exemplary female scientists for their contributions in the STEM fields and for their commitment to serving as role models for younger generations.
