THIS IS A REPEAT SHOW

Please join me Michael Saahir on Sunday October 20, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. (EST) for a REPEAT OF our blog talk radio show, WORDS MAKE PEOPLE on the topic: "Being Muslim in a Christian-Privileged Society".

Listen by phone at 714 816-4673 or listen online at: https://www.blogtalkradio.com/station-iwdm/2019/10/20/repeat-show--being-muslim-in-a-christian-privileged-society

Often we hear about how “white privilege” favors America Caucasians; However, this time we’ll discuss how non-Christians – namely Muslims – have to navigate through a culture – within the general public sphere – that is not always conducive to the holidays, attire, and to a large degree even the educational needs of Muslims because the “traditional” societal patterns are designed to favor Christians.

We will exchange thoughts on things our Christian family members and friends can learn about non-Christians from this conversation.

We are grateful that America has become more inclusive, yet there is room for improvement. Join us on Sun. Oct 20th as we discuss this topic: "Being Muslims in a Christian privilege Society.”

Our guest include Muhammad Saahir a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and serves as a full time clinician at the Indiana University Health Center Counseling and Psychological Services. Saahir serves as the coordinator of multicultural counseling outreach geared towards traditionally underrepresented student populations and demographics.

Nuri Rodriguez a Muslim who is a student at Indiana State in Terre Haute, IN. She had an outstanding high school career (3.6 GPA) while being awarded with many awards as she immersed herself in many of her school's social and civic activities.
