Join WORDS MAKE PEOPLE on Sunday June 10, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. EST as we discuss, “A Muslim Conversation on Organ Donations” with special guest Ms. Ebony Chappel of the Indiana Donor Network.

Call 714 816-4673 (to speak to the host press 1) -- or listen online at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/station-iwdm/2018/06/10/a-muslim-conversation-on-organ-donations-with-special-guest-ms-ebony-chappel

Ebony Chappel currently serves as the multicultural community relations coordinator for the Indiana Donor Network, one of the top organ procurement organizations in the country. Ebony’s goal is to educate diverse communities about the life-saving miracle of organ donation and transplantation.

The purpose of this discussion is NOT to establish a ruling or to establish a position on donating organs. Our intent is to provide information and facts and to discuss concerns on this issue. Ultimately the donating of one’s organs is a private decision that varies from person to person depending on their respective set of circumstances.

In addition to your call-in questions we hope to cover some of the following:

  1. Is there any Qur’anic support for or against donating organs?
  2. What are some of the Islamic positions on donating organs?
  3. Since Muslims often wash and wrap their loved-ones within 24-72 hours how would organ donating effect this process?
  4. Where can Muslims learn about organ donations?
  5. How to address fears and distrust associated with the donation of organs.
  6. Overcoming and/or quantifying the “Urban Myths” associated donating organs.
  7. Are you a Muslim who has given or received an organ?
  8. Do you have a loved-one who has given or received an organ?
