Elizabeth Emily Hicks and William Raymond Hicks are a husband and wife team who met in 1996 through a transformational workshop.  During much personal growth together, Elizabeth, a.k.a. Elise, and William were inspired to write "Wings: The Journey Home" because they wanted to impart the wisdom that they have gained from their life experiences, in a fun and inspiring way.  Elise and William are both students of history, psychology, self-empowerment, metaphysics and quantum physics.   ‘Wings', an inspiring coming of age tale about an eagle who forgets, is their first published book.  They have written several other fictional and non-fictional e-books together and separately, which they have published on Smashwords.  They live in a rare and beautiful urban sanctuary, called Mariners Village in Marina del Rey, California, where Great Blue Herons and other wildlife live, but developers and politicians have renovation plans that would remove all of the trees, well over 1,000, as well as the last nesting grounds for the Great Blue Heron.  They have banded together with their neighbors and local organizations to create the Friends of Mariners Village and the Lorax Project, in order to save the trees and even more importantly the vision that Mariners Village represents, namely, that man and nature can live together in harmony.  Check out their websites: http://www.wingsthejourneyhome.com and http://www.gofundme.com/ProtectLAsCoastalForest
