This Saturday on Behind the Blue Curtain we will get to hear from the New Civil Rights Heroes.  Young America is signalling that they've had enough.  Armed with history and social media savy, they are changing America, for the better.

Simone Posey is an actress, known for WOKE: The Pecking Order, Bompton Had a Dream (2020) and Insecure (2016). Simone is  from Prince Georges County, Maryland. “I grew up known as “the tap dancer”. I mean I literally tap danced down the hallways in school, at talent shows, and in every room in the house (including the bathroom). Dance was such a huge part of my life, that when it was time to decide at the age of 17, what I would do with the rest of my life, i.e., college, I choose to major in what I knew best…you guessed it…Dance.”  Simone taught High School Special Education/General Education English for two years in Brooklyn. “ As much as I love my students, I was searching for more in regards to my life and my purpose.”

Isidoro Rodriguez is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he majored in English, with a minor in journalism. He has been published in the John Jay Sentinel and recognized for his writing talent in “JJ’s Finest 2016.” He is a recipient of the 2017 Patricia Licklider Award for Best Work of Nonfiction: Journalism and the John Jay English Department’s 2017 award for Outstanding Graduate in English. He is now a criminal justice journalist for The Crime Report, an online criminal justice news source, where his focus is on policing.  He has covered the issues of training, hiring, policing the mentally ill, and tackling the code of silence in multiple published works.
