With what seems like a daily stream of mistakes that result in injured or killed Citizens and Police Officers there is obviously a need for more police training.  Police Chief after Police Chief point to a lack of training when giving press conferences following many of these events, yet all too often nothing changes.  Cities have budgets, which means elected officials directly impact the police department's budget and how much money is given for training.  This Saturday Jan 18, 2020 on Behind the Blue Curtain we’re going to talk about the public demands for more Police Training and the results of not implementing it.. Our Guest will be Attorney Billy Clark who is Representing Miesha Brown in reference to an incident that happened at a Waco, Texas gas station where an off duty (Not Waco) Officer’s gun discharged while he off duty and intervening in a disturbance at that location.  Attorney Clark is a native Texan, born and raised in Waco.  He served for 22-years in the United States Air Force and retired at the rank of Major.  Atty Clarke has been a Senior Air Battle Manager (Senior Director) flying on the E-3 AWACS airplane, an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies (Manhattan College, New York City), a high school teacher--Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at Klein ISD (Houston, Texas) and now an Attorney in both the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and Waco-Temple-Killeen area. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Government/American Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio; Master of Public Administration from The University of Oklahoma; and Juris Doctor from The University of North Texas Dallas College of Law.
