The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police existence, actions, behavior and the ability of the police to secure and maintain public respect (Sir Robert Peel 1829)

This Saturday February 2, 2019 at 10 AM (CST) on Behind the Blue Curtain we’ll discuss “Mutual Trust & Respect”  What happened to it?  How do we get it back?  What will it cost us?  Police & Community Relations are at a stand-still if not declining in many cities across America.  The profession has taken a lot of criticism for its inability or unwillingness to change.  Officers on the streets do not write the policies that govern how they perform their jobs.  This is usually dictated by Department Policy, which Police Chiefs, City Managers and City Council Members have some input in.  Misconduct on behalf of the Officer is solely his/her fault, but out-dated and ineffective policies are the fault of the people in charge.  How much responsibility do the citizens share in solving the problems impacting their neighborhood?  Let’s talk about it!  The call-in number is 646-716-4621 then press 1 if you’d like to join the conversation,  I DO NOT speak for the City of Waco, the Waco Police Department, the Officers, Civilian Employees or Citizens of Waco.  My opinions are based on my personal and professional experiences.
