This Saturday, 1-10-19 at 10 AM (central time) on Behind the Blue Curtain we’re going to look at the untold story of Police Suicides.  Why are they happening?  What is causing the yearly rise in Police Officers taking their own lives.  Where are the Politicians and Police Unions who say they care so much about Police Officers?  Why has there not been any legislation introduced by Republicans or Democrats that provides FREE mental health services for all disabled or retired Police, Fire and EMS?  This should not be a state-to-state issue, it should be a FEDERAL ACTION!  In the course of the average 20-year career a Police Officer will see things that would give the Judges and Politicians nightmares, but we’re expected to simply “tough it out”, “go to the next call” or simply “shake it off”.  If you think its not a problem, consider this: In 2016 108 Officers took their own life, 102 in 2017, 158 in 2018 and 2019 is on track to be a higher number.   In the last 4 years, more Police Officers took their own lives than were killed in the line of duty.  Lisa Purtue will be back as a guest to dive into this topic.  The call-in number is 646-716-4621 and press 1 if you’d like to join the conversation.  I do NOT speak for the City of Waco, the Waco Police Department, the Officers, Civilian Employees or Citizens of Waco.  My opinions are based on my personal and professional experiences.
