Guest: Alex Alben, VP Strategy and Development of Delve Networks. Alex Alben has had a varied career in journalism, media and high tech ventures. He began his career at CBS News as Walter Cronkite's researcher. A graduate of Stanford University and Stanford law school, he practiced law as a motion picture attorney in Los Angeles for Orion Pictures and Warner Bros. studio. Moving to Seattle in 1993, he joined Paul Allen's new media start-up, Starwave, which pioneered the first commercial web sites, including ESPN.com and ABC News.com. At RealNetworks, Alex served as a vice president for six years, handling government affairs, music products and the first Internet radio products. Alex has most recently worked for two Seattle start-ups: social-networking enterprise, Wetpaint, Inc., and web video platform, Delve Networks. Alex's editorials on the intersection of technology and politics appear regularly in The Seattle Times. In 2004, he was a candidate for the U.S. Congress in Washington's Eighth Congressional District.
