The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), an agency with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced that they will begin accepting “expanded DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)” applications starting on February 18, 2015. This episode will give the eligibility criteria for "expanded" DACA, its benefits and limitations, and what you can do to start the process if you believe you qualify.
There are also immigration stories around the country- President Obama ordering federal agents to examine aliens under custody to determine if they qualify for deferred action; Congressional Republicans threatening to cut funding for the deferred action programs, and Colorado's recent restriction on the availability of drivers licenses for the undocumented.
Note: Successful DACA applicants are able to apply for a driver's license in at least 45 states. The 10 states I mentioned was in reference to the Colorado story where that state is one of ten that allow license applications from the undocumented.
