Kay has more than 35 years of banking experience and recently joined BB&T as the Texas regional president in December, 2009. She previously served the last 3 years as area manager for Wells Fargo.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, she spent 29 years with Capital One, formerly Hibernia National Bank. During her tenure there, she held various senior management positions in U.S. corporate banking, Texas commercial banking, and correspondent banking. In 2005, she was promoted and moved to Dallas to serve as the North Texas regional chair for Capital One Bank’s north Texas market, responsible for retail banking and business banking.
