Jen Foster, Attorney at Law joins us Tuesday at 10am Central time! There is a great people's movement afoot in the entire country, yet, most people are completely unaware. The reason: corporate media blackout and corrupted journalism. OccupyWallStreet is a protest occupation that has been going on for 11 days in New York's Liberty Square. Protesters are streaming live as the world is watches, although there has been little mainstream media coverage. Solidarity Occupations have sprung up all over the country, including Portland, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, London, and elsewhere globally.
These protesters are demanding economic justice and the end to corporate pillaging and raping of our people's, earth and democracy. Central to the protests is changing the United States Supreme Court decision of United People v. FEC, the decision that held corporation were “persons” for election law persons; thus, imposing no limits on corporate $ spent on elections. A Constitutional Amendment is necessary to correct this gross misapplication of law. The occupation and the group Anonymous have also vowed to take action against the State of Georgia and the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole for executing Troy Davis last week, after a majority of the witnesses recanted and testified to police intimidation.
