Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1952 Ray started at an early age to draw trees and landscapes. While in elementary school he enjoyed the music and art classes most. Drawing with pencil and charcoal was his favorite pastime. Ray’s father had a background in art and was accomplished in charcoal and water color painting. In high school Ray left artwork behind to pursue music and playing the drums.
Ray is currently the director of the DaVinci Art Gallery in the old antique section of Tomball, Texas. The gallery is a working co-op of 28 artists with all forms of artwork from pottery, jewelry, wood, photography and all medias of painting. Now on his 5th year as director of the gallery he stays inspired by the gallery members and fellow artisans and the talent they all bring to life.
