In the first season of Basketball Wives we saw just a glimpse of Shaunie’s drama as she argued with Gloria Govan about her sister Laura's affair with Shaq. Apparently, when Shaunie went to the video tape she didn’t like what she saw & quickly fell back from the drama. Nonetheless, with her face time decreasing, her bank account increased. Shaunie sat back as the other ladies filled up the space she would have occupied with their fights, flings & lawsuits.  Entertainment or exploitation? Iin the finale of Season 5 we see Shaunie somewhat bothered by the height of the “excitement”. She is concerned that the negative connotation of the show has impacted other business ventures. She wonders if she is thought of as a “hot, ghetto mess”. Guilty by association maybe?  Shaunie is not the only woman in the game of getting rich off of reality TV. What about Love & Hip-Hop producer Mona Scott-Young of Monami Productions? Despite her A-list of clients from Jim Jones to Missy Elliot, Mona sits behind the camera as her own mentee, Yandy Smith battled with Chrissy Lampkin. Mona even made a brief appearance as a voice of reason amidst all the beef. Like Shaunie, Mona's collecting 2 checks for 1 show, one for being the producer, the other for being a cast member. And the spin-offs! Ball Wives LA. Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, RHoEVERYWHERE. And my Caucasian Sisters, we haven’t forgotten y’all-Mob Wives Chicago! Can you say CHA CHING?!  So where is the line that divides income & insensitivity & is it ok to cross that line? Why are we women, allowing, even forcing, the media to portray us in such light? When is the Real Professional Women Working it Out reality show coming on?? #SistersRealTalk
