SISFI's The Human Affects of Superstorm Sandy Show Series

SISFI in association with NYC Community Activists Network “NYCCAN” My Rockaways Media “MyRM” and The International Community Media Network Project “ICMNP” presents a special radio show series on “The Human Affects (Physical & Mental) of Superstorm Sandy” to discuss the real issues of the immediate and long-term quality and safety of life challenges for the people affected by the storm, the conditions they’re living in and the mental/physical health impacts on them on Jan. 29th, 8pm, Jan. 31st, 2pm, Feb. 4th 8pm, Feb 7th 11am

There are so many human challenges being faced by the people who are affected by the storm in the devastated areas and also the first responders and volunteers from across the country that are being overlooked and we are still not addressing openly or effectively, stated Mr. Brett A. Scudder, president, chairman of SISFI and mental health advocate.

The mental health impacts such as stress, depression, anxiety, P.T.S.D., suicide ideations have increased not only for the victims but also people seeing and hearing of their struggles and suffering to live out this historic natural disaster. The human affects from the system and government have created greater impacts and affects on the people than the natural storm itself. It’s beyond human imagination that the quality and safety of life for our seniors, women and children can be disregarded because of financial concerns when clearly it is common sense to preserve and safeguard the immediate quality of life status than wait for loss of life or long-term medical and physical health complications to develop, states Mr. Scudder.
