LIMITATIONS SET ON OUR BLACK CHILDREN

TUNE IN... LISTEN IN... CALL IN... A fan of the show and parent of 4 children wrote to me about what a counselor told her 16 year old son at a high school in Cleveland, Ohio...How do you tell a student that high school was the maximum that the average black child would go. As long as he finished high school that is all that would be expected of him... Why ae limitations being put on these children, why aren't counselors pushing these children past high school and towards college. Why would you max a child out that way like there is nothing more that he or she can accomplish? These children have no goals or aspirations and the school systems are beating them down... A dream deferred.... We must encourage these kids to be more than just the norm and to strive for higher and aim for far more than what they see in front of them... Let's talk about this....
