What's going on with your teen? Is he happy in his current team position? Is she nervous about her college choices?

Dr. Chris Stankovich and Dr. Kalenah Witcher are trained professionals who have spent years developing techniques work with growing students. Both work with students and athletes on a daily basis and will offer insight into what's happening at school, on the field and with their friends.

"Research has shown a relationship between parent-adolescent communication and several adjustment outcomes, such as adolescent self-esteem, academic achievement, and well-being. More specifically, adolescent adjustment has been linked with a balance of positive and negative discussions with your teens." [Shannon L. Sachs, OSU Extension]

You might think, "they're not listening any way."  But they are. Teens have to adjust to their new bodies and growing mind. New science has revealed that the teen brain continues to develop long after they've grown taller or bigger and they can't make adult decisons yet – mainly because they're not adults and still need your guidance.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the final episode in our communication series next week where we'll focus on talking to your college students.

NEW! We've added the RMS – Real Mom Scenarios. One mom will share the story of her middle schooler's concussion.

Listen for our awesome weekly features – Mia's Tech Tips and Deb's Encourging Words.
