Host Eric Howell Sharp interviews Barbra Williamson. Council Member Barbra Williamson was successful in her first election bid to the City Council in November 1992, and was re-elected in 1996, 2000, 2004, and for a fifth term in 2008. She served a one-year term as Mayor Pro Tem in 1997, 2001, 2005 and again in 2009. Council Member Williamson chairs the Tree Advisory Board and serves on the Simi Valley Arts Commission, Task Force on Homelessness, the Arroyo Simi Committee, the Farmers Insurance Building Red Team, and the Ad Hoc Permit Processing Review Committee. She also is a liaison to the Simi Valley Council on Aging and a member of the Los Angeles Avenue Revitalization Committee, working with business and property owners interested in rejuvenating the commercial area to improve business potential as well as community aesthetics. In addition, she serves as the City representative to the Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County, and serves on the Ventura County Animal Regulation Commission. Simi Valley has been Council Member Williamson's home for over 30 years. She is Executive Director for Loving Heart Hospice Foundation. She has two adult children, Jamie and Matthew.
