Is this really election day and why should I care? Good question!

Your teachable moment host at SevsDeadSerious did just that over the last 2 days...used teachable moments in class, in this case, the elections.  And as a History prof, discussion of elections and the issues certainly falls into the wheelhouse of my professional obligations.  What was surprising wasn't the lack of knowledge as it pertained to national and international topics, but how few had NO knowledge of local and state issues while two actually didn't know this was even election day...now THAT'S sad.  This election will have over 65% of registered voters not voting (in Kenya for example 85%+) but will still continue to bitch about the party that they would NOT have voted for had they actually voted...like I said yesterday; it you don't vote, don't bitch and for those who still don't get it, if you don't vote then shut the FUCK up...could I be any clearer.
