Do you have a loved one who is IN treatment? Are you awaiting his/her return home? What CAN YOU do while your loved one is in treatment? How can you prepare yourself and your family unit to avoid re-entering the old familiar enabling behaviors and patterns that may have contributed to the collateral damage of the addiction. Treena Haase is the Program Director at Living Free Recovery Services, a licensed faith-based outpatient substance abuse treatment program located in Brooklyn Park, MN. She has worked there for the past 13 years both with adults, adolescents and family members. In 2006, Treena developed the Family Fortress program with is a unique combination of group therapy and education geared toward family members and loved ones of those battling addiction. Treena earned her B.S., in Family Social Science from the University of MN along with being a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. This educational background has helped her pursue her special interest of helping rebuild family units that have been attacked by addiction. Treena balances her professional life by also enjoying being a wife and mother of two daughters ages 8 and 5. She lives in Brooklyn Park, MN and enjoys scrapbooking, spending time at the gym and being a Weigh Watchers group leader once per week.
