This week’s show deals with efforts being made to establish safer practices in the use of pesticides for not only public (especially our schools), but also for residential properties out of concern for our children. One proposed bill in the state of New Hampshire HB # 1456 pertains to “establishing a committee to study the use of pesticides, herbicides, and their alternatives” in these said communities…especially where children play. While this is just a start to educate an unsuspecting public, advocates feel strongly that such a bill if passed could be duplicated in other states and have a major impact. We would like to present to you what we feel are both safer and therefore more environmentally friendly alternatives. These options will minimize your exposure to unwanted potentially very harmful chemicals as some studies strongly suggest a link to several cancers and other debilitating diseases. I personally can vouch for the effectiveness of these methods which I hope will become the industry standard in the near future, as has been the case, for several Canadian provinces.
