The law promises to give its adherents life.  Lev 18:5.  But Paul found this, that the law's promise of life in Leviticus 18:5, in his experience, to be actually "unto death."  Rom 7:10.

The law is not "of faith."  Gal 3:21.  "Whatsoever is not 'of faith' (living by law) is SIN." Rom 14:23.  To live by the mosaic law is sin and will lead to severence from Christ and a fall from grace.  Gal 5:4.

The law is not "of" ("based on" or "derived from" or "out from") faith. Gal 3:12. So justification cannot cannot come from living by the works of the law.  The just can only can "live" by faith.  This is primarily "the faith of Christ" at Calvary. Gal 2:16, 20.  So, Our faith is a response to His faith.  Gal 3:26.  Faith is what gets us through the experience of dying to self (the cross).  We faith it through our experience of the cross.  2 Cor 4:8-18 @vv13-14.  We faith it in the times when we are hard pressed, knocked down, humiliated, treated unfairly, perplexed etc etc etc
