He exchanged all that He was for all that we were. He became all that we are so that we might become all that He is.

Here is a list of what He exchanged:

• His righteousness for our sin (sin nature); 2 Cor 5:21;
• His uplifted life for our fallen life;
• His fellowship for our loneliness;
• His highness for our lowness;
• His life for our death;
• His strength for our weakness;
• His riches for our poverty;
• His union with God for our separation from God;
• His freedom for our slavery;
• His glory for our shame;
• His blessing for our curse (Gal 3:10-13);
• His overcoming for our being overwhelmed
• His grace for our law;
• His love for our hate;
• His incorruption for our corruption;
• As we take up His cross with Him daily we can avail ourselves of these exchanges:
• Our bad death for His good death;
• Our corruption for His incorruption;
• Our sin for His righteousness;
• Our fall for His being raised up;
• Our old way for His newness of life;
• Our pride for His humility;
• Our temporal life for His eternal life;
• Our selfish viewpoint for His divine viewpoint;
• Our self-centeredness for His God-centeredness;
• Our weakness for His power; 2 Cor 13:4;
• Our chaos for His peace.
