MATTHEW 14:13  JESUS GRIEVES OVER JOHN THE BAPTIST

“…'Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns… “'

            Last week the question was asked why didn’t Jesus visit John the Baptist while John was incarcerated and it was determined that John’s role had to decrease while Jesus’ ministry had to increase according to the will of the Father.

            Here we read where Jesus got the news of John the Baptist’s death perhaps from John’s disciples.  Why did Jesus depart to a deserted place?  He had to grieve over the death of His cousin.
