About:

"Grip of Change" has been out for about a week. It took a few years to write. Lots of long lulls between efforts. The characters changed a bit, the story changed a bit. Then came the 3-month wrap-up, sprinkled with holidays. A spin-off and a completely different story are in the works, as is an anthology. Short pieces that can be read on the beach or in an airport.

Grip of Change is about a trusting, complacent housewife who suddenly disappears after visiting her husband at his office. He refuses to divulge what transpired between them. A security guard witnessed them arguing in the hall. Her car is still in the parking garage. Their adult children show up for the weekend, unannounced. When their mother doesn't show up at the house, they bring in the police.

The daughter is learning the difference between a job and a career, the son has a bully for a girlfriend, and the husband is struggling to define success. Everyone is caught in the grip of change. None of their lives will ever be the same.
