On The Road with John Stover an Oddessy of a Clean and Sober Rollover

My first book is called The Road Runner / An American Odyssey and is a modern retelling of Homer’s Odyssey.  It is a memoir of my life up until 1998 when my father died.   My father owned a downtown, Skid Row hotel in Brockton, Mass.  I found half dozen dead bodies as a kid, usually drug and alcohol .In 1989, I got sober for the first time.  My daughter was born a year later, and I opened my first clothing company, City Garment Finishers.  It was time of great personal and financial success.  In 1992, I got divorced and went to work doing a line of clothing for Playboy. I was at the Playboy Mansion for the Millennium New Years Eve party.  (Pictures of all this are on my web site.) I was sober during this time. This is when I took a serious interest in helping the homeless.

The new books reflect those experiences. I am fine now, drug and pain free and promoting the new books for The Love Rescue Me Trilogy. The title was taken from a U2 song, Love Rescue Me.  I have written nine books to date, six are currently available in print. The most interesting thing about the new books is….
