We're in the midst of the dog days of Summer, and the New York Mets are one of the hottest teams in baseball.

They just completed a sweep of the Colorado Rockies, giving them three series sweeps out of their last four.  More importantly, the Amazins opened up a 4-game lead in the National League East over the stumbling Washington Nationals.

Episode #114 of the Rising Apple will discuss the club's recent surge, and more.

RA's senior staff writer Michael Lecolant will host this evening's discussion, and will be joined by featured guests freelance New York radio personality Mike Silva, and The Passed Ball Show host John Pielli.

Of course, they'll take an obligatory look back at the 2014 Mets season, and players who've worn #14 in Mets history.  If time allows, they'll attempt a 1914 Federal League retrospective too.
