Join me Wednesday for what is sure to be an awe inspiring hour. My very special guest will be Laura Wellington, creator of the Wumblers. For you Moms and Dads with small children, for you business owners who dared to jump off the cliff with just a dream and some inspiration, and for all of you standing at the shore, afraid to explore distant oceans, this is a show for you. Widowed by cancer, left with 4 small children, where many of us might have given up and given in, Laura, after seeing what was missing on children's television, and questioning other moms as to what they wanted their young children to watch, formulated a series that teaches children to be better human beings by being socially and globally concious. Thus was The Wumblers born. (www.wumblers.com) She then signed a deal to broadcast nationally and internationally. (Check your local cable station for dates and times) And, because, although the goal of the series is to nurture the whole child - nutritionally, emotionally, intellectually, and educationally, she also believed it should above all be fun, she partnered with the National Watermelon Association (www.nationalwatermelonassociation.com) to provide a line of creative toys. This added to the existing line of apparel. plush toys, puzzles, games. dvd's, cd's, and educational tools (www.giddygander.com). Laura has recently been nominated for the 1010Wins Newsmaker Award, and has won the Forbes Enterprise Award as well as the Garden State Woman of the Year Award. Wanting to teach her children how to thrive after a loss, she has a lesson for all of us. Please tune in Wednesday at 1pm to listen to this amazing woman. As always, feel free to join us in the chat room., or call in (718) 466-4706 to ask questions of myself or my guest. And if you miss this inspiring story, be sure to catch it in the archives.
