Join us on Record Talk Radio on Tuesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. when we'll discuss the news that Bergen County  will will create its first-ever Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender advisory committee.

The announcement Monday comes days after a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding same-sex marriage in all 50 states.

Our guests will include Freeholder Tracy Zur, Garden State Equality Executive Director Andrea Bowen and SuSu Stewart, chair of Newark's LGBT commission.

Zur will talk about how how plans for the committee came about. Bowen will offer her statewide perspective on what she calls "the golden age" of LGBT activism" and Stewart will talk about some of the issues Newark's 11-member commission has addressed.

Bergen County would join Jersey City, Essex County and Newark, which have already created LGBT advisory panels.
