This week I've been reading the biography of John Newton, the writer of the hymn "Amazing Grace." I was taken by how much effort and thought Newton put into the marriage proposal to his lifelong companion and love, Polly Catlett. It reminded me of a time when marriage for Christians was considered a very holy and very privileged event in life. Today, as I look around at our own culture and society, that reverential awe and holiness is no longer attached to marriage. Sometimes that is even true for Christians.

Marriage: What's The Point? is the theme of this Sunday's edition of Second Half Christians with Greg and Margaret. The program will air at 7 PM (MOUNTAIN), 6 PM (PACIFIC), 8 PM (CENTRAL), and 9 PM (EASTERN) on BlogTalkRadio. Our guests for this program are Jesse and Kara Birkey of http://www.marriagewhatsthepoint.com.
