Jesse Williams BET Humanitarian Award acceptance speech has been trending heavily this week. The actor/activist addressed police brutality, white privilege, and economic inequality during his speech. Many African American people felt empowered by the message. Many European Americans felt blindsided. Musician Justin Timberlake weighed in in support of Jesse Williams message and was attacked by “Black Twitter” and Tomi Lehren, a conservative media personality, shared her distain for the message during her show.
