What would happen if batterers would notify you that they are abusive?  Would you continue to date them or be involved with them?  Batterers usually are users or abusers of drugs and alcohol. There is a building block to help a batterer reach a place of "Four 'R's (a) Responsibility for being abusive and violent (b) Remorse shown for their actions (c) Repair, the abuser must restore make good, or compensate the victims for their abuse or violence.  This is just one of the building blocks.
