Consider your first impression a final decision. It’s immediate, spontaneous and almost impossible to change. Susan Sommers has always been fascinated by the role of first impressions in paving the way to success. She founded Dresszing™ to help people create a style that shows the world at a glance their uniqueness. Through Dresszing, she does one-on-one coaching with private clients. The corporate arm of her company, Susan Sommers StylePower, handles business programs for Fortune 500 companies. A contributor to Crain’s NY and The Enterprise Report, I’ve been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine and Health, among other publications and have also appeared on Eyewitness News, The View, CBS Early Morning News and other television shows. Her background as a fashion and beauty editor, writer and stylist for a range of newspapers, e-zines and women’s magazines, including Cosmopolitan, New Woman and Woman, Harper’s Bazaar, Ladies’ Home Journal, Family Circle, Where, New York, The New Yorker and glam.com, allowed her to hone her fashion approach and her critical eye. After having directed hundreds of makeovers, she can look at anyone and know his or her best colors and silhouettes. She's worked in Paris and lived to write about it. Her book, French Chic, was aimed at American women interested in adapting the timeless lessons of French style. Its sequel, Italian Chic, explored that country’s style and design leaders. Believing that while how one looks matters, how one acts might even matter more, she sharpened her etiquette and people skills at the renowned Protocol School of Washington, from which she is certified. The approach she's developed puts the “zing” in Dresszing and in the personal and professional presentation of everyone with whom she works.
