Statistics show that everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer. Often we have no idea of how to support those people It is the five-letter C-word that no one wants to say. It is the disease that cause friendships to be strained because by not knowing what to say, we don't say anything at all. It is a disease that causes people to lose jobs, home, time, and even relationships. Physical appearances and body weight change. Yet, it often is the purple elephant in the room. However, there is something you can do to support people with cancer who just need to be acknowledged and need to feel they won't lose everything because they are sick for a time.
April 1 often is thought to be "April Fools' Day" and many jokes are played. However, on Friday, April 1, noon PT/3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. in the UK, Purpose Talk Radio host Cindy Freeman will talk with Chix 4 a Cause CEO Jillian Clark about the organization she founded and the challenge she has for people this April Fools Day and into the month of April that is no joke. Chix 4 a Cause helps people who are fighting cancer with its Gift of Love program by helping lessen where (C)ancer (H)as (I)ts e(X)tras. The organization has procurred a proclamation from the City of West Bend, Washington County, and State of Wisconsin in honor of "No Foolin' Around With Cancer" Month. This year, as they celebrate their 12th year in existence, they have created the Purple Hair Challenge asking people to "dye it, wig it, hat it" with the color purple to show support for those going though the battle.
