Detroit, the Birthplace of Punk Rock

Some people will argue that punk rock started in New York City with the Ramones. Others argue that it began in Great Britain with the Clash and the Sex Pistols. Nope, it all started in Detroit in the late 1960's with bands like Iggy and the Stooges, the MC5, and others. We're going to be opinionated here and tell you why punk started in Detroit. We've lived in metro Detroit all of our lives, so we bring that to the table in this dialogue.
