A descendant of Civil War Seneca veteran Frank Anderson, Michael worked behind the scenes supporting the Unity Movement. He was a friend to Mad Bear, Rolling Thunder, Crow Dog, Stanley Krippner, Fred "Walking Badger", Tigre Perez and others. He helped Tigre organize the 1980 Cano El Pueblo Festival in Arizona, which had a significant turnout of indigenous elders.
He has been a proponent of Solar Energy generation research ever since he had an out of body experience in the mid 1970s.
